If you have been directed to this page then your website most likely contains products or services that may fall under the category of youth endangering content in certain jurisdictions and accordingly our security system may have marked your Jimdo page for manual review.
Jimdo has no objection to such content on the Jimdo Platform as long as it is within the scope of the following requirement, the Jimdo Terms of Service and insofar as they are created and operated in accordance with applicable law.
To make your offer permanently available through Jimdo, follow these steps:
- Upgrade to a fee-based Jimdo package, e.g. JimdoPro or JimdoBusiness. You can find out the features and pricing of each package here: http://www.jimdo.com/info/prices-at-jimdo/. To upgrade, just log in to your JimdoFree website and click on Upgrade in the Site Admin. Upgrading will allow you to register your own domain (website without jimdosite.com) with us. Select your desired domain name, register it and set it as the main domain for your website. With your own domain you can generate greater interest and increased recognition for your website. You’ll find more helpful information in our support center.
- You must include an Imprint (business/website information section) which acts as legal documentation for your website. In most jurisdictions it is necessary to include your business name, a contact person, address and a direct contact option(phone or email address) so that your customers and site visitors can directly contact you. With the GDPR you should also review what data you are obliged to include in your privacy policy. The inclusion of the imprint information is almost an obligation for every website which is why it is included in the Jimdo terms of service. Don’t forget to also remove the “Built with Jimdo” Jimdo information from the imprint via menu -> settings -> general -> About Page.
- Please be aware of your obligation to include protection for underage visitors especially if your site involves the sale or distribution of Alcohol, tobacco or similar products/service - if your site contains explicit and uncensored photos, these are only to be viewable in Password-Protected Areas. You can find out more information about these here: http://support.jimdo.com/basics/editing-your-navigation/#cc-m-header-10106407883. Furthermore, please review the relevant laws/regulations in your jurisdiction in order to determine whether or not you are obliged by law to include an appointee for the protection of minors in your “Business Information” section referred to in point 2 above.
- We also highly recommended, in particular with youth endangering content, that you include an age verification challenge on your site so as to ensure that only eligible visitors can access your content. An example thereof can be found here: https://www.altersabfrage.de/ . Please be aware that this is only a guide as to how you can add content to your site. Jimdo is not responsible for the content that our users add to their websites. In fact, the sole responsibility for the content remains with the user as detailed in our terms of service.
At this point we would also make you aware that we cannot offer legal counsel and all of the above is simply a summary of the requirements you must meet in order to continue to create and run your website via the Jimdo platform
We urge you to consult a relevant lawyer should you have questions regarding the legality of the services you offer in your jurisdiction and to be aware and observe Section 5 of our Terms of Use (http://www.jimdo.com/info/terms-of-use-privacy/).
Please be aware that as described in the Jimdo Terms of Service, failure to observe these requirements, the Jimdo Terms of Service and/or any applicable legislation presents a violation of the Jimdo Terms of Serviceand can result in the immediate termination of the contractual relationship at hand.
